The crew’s expertise ensures a secure and enjoyable journey, allowing you to embrace the serenity and expansiveness of the Coral Sea.

As we sail along the East Coast, marvel at the coastal beauty and diverse landscapes that unfold before you. The open-sea route provides a unique perspective, allowing you to appreciate the rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and pristine coastlines that characterize Australia’s eastern shores.

During August, you can expect prevailing winds along the eastern coast of Australia to generally come from the south to southeast. These winds are typical for the winter season, providing a relatively stable and predictable sailing experience.

Sydney

The Brisbane River with the historic Story Bridge.

As the Clipper approaches the vibrant city of Brisbane, the skyline emerges on the horizon. The voyage concludes with the excitement of exploring this bustling metropolis, characterized by its modern architecture, cultural attractions, and lively atmosphere. Your sailing adventure from Sydney to Brisbane is a testament to the freedom and expansiveness of the open sea, leaving you with indelible memories of the vast Australian coastline.

For example, visit the South Bank Parklands, a vibrant area along the Brisbane River with parks, gardens, restaurants, cafes, art galleries, and an artificial beach, Streets Beach. Take a look at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, the world’s oldest and largest koala reserve, where you can cuddle koalas, feed kangaroos, and see other native Australian animals. Also enjoyable are the City Botanic Gardens with truly beautiful gardens in the heart of the city for walking, picnicking, or simply enjoying nature. Looking for a bit more adventure? Then climb the Story Bridge for a breathtaking and unique view of the city. And of course, you shouldn’t miss Mount Coot-tha, where you can enjoy breathtaking views, explore botanical gardens, attend educational programs at the planetarium, go mountain biking, and dine deliciously with panoramic views.. This is just a small selection of what Brisbane has to offer.

We hope that the special sailing adventure on board the Clipper has provided unforgettable memories.

Sailing & Adventure

Immerse yourself in the sailing experience by actively participating in crew activities.

You are invited to work alongside the crew during their watches. Whether assisting with navigation, learning the art of sail handling, or participating in other aspects of seamanship, this hands-on experience adds a unique dimension to your sailing adventure.

What could be more beautiful than standing lookout with nothing but the sea around you? It’s a unique experience to feel small and insignificant in the overwhelming nature. Gaze into the waves, enjoy the vast ocean, and keep an eye out for marine wildlife during your voyage. August is part of the whale migration season along the East Coast, offering the possibility of spotting migrating whales in the open sea. Dolphins and seabirds are also commonly seen during coastal and open-sea passages.

Besides sailing, there are plenty of other activities! We also recommend you to assist the crew, for instance, in maintenance, to truly experience life on board a sailing ship.

SHIP’S DOCTOR
When booking your trip, we request you to fill out a health declaration. If you provide any specific details here, the ship’s doctor may contact you to discuss your situation. Based on observations or strong suspicions of a very limited physical condition and associated risks, the ship’s doctor may advise the captain to exclude you as a passenger from the voyage. The final decision rests with the captain. The ship is equipped with a (small) hospital. Upon boarding, our ship’s doctor may ask you again to provide him with as much information as possible about your medication use and/or physical limitations, so that he can take this into account.

There is a doctor on board on multi-day sailing trips who can provide medication against seasickness. Your first point of contact on board for your medical inquiries, among other things, is the ship’s doctor.

Some countries require proof of vaccination for travellers wishing to enter or exit the country.
Travel requirements are updated often, so we recommend always checking the latest entry requirements before your trip.
