Now hiring: a housekeeper for our beautiful full-rigged 3-masted sailing ship from November 2026!

Clipper Stad Amsterdam sails worldwide as a passenger vessel under Dutch flag. She is an authentic, full rigged ship. The Ship Clipper Stad Amsterdam sails worldwide as a passenger vessel under Dutch flag. She is an authentic, full rigged ship. The vessel has a tonnage of 723 GT and carries up to 2200m2 of sail. She has 14 luxury passenger cabins and a spacious long room for dinners and presentations. The Clipper Stad Amsterdam is available for business events, luxury cruises and adventurous journeys for individuals. The crew consists of 30 enthusiastic professional sailors from 10-12 nationalities. The common language on board is English.

Your role

As housekeeper you are responsible for cleaning the guest cabins, have an overview of cleaning the crew quarters and common areas and you are ‘in charge’ of the laundry (crew clothing and sheets, towels, etc.). You are also responsible for keeping and ordering cleaning products and also the issuing and ordering of crew clothing.

During cabin changes the crew will assist you to clean the cabins. You also have a supporting role in the medical team on board. And just like all other crew, you are a team player and you also enjoy helping in other teams.

Job description

  • Daily cleaning of passenger cabins.
  • Planning of passenger and seafarers cabins.
  • Running the laundry (clothing, towels, bed sheets, kitchen towels).
  • Stock control and ordering of cleaning materials and products.
  • Stock control and ordering of clothing and linen.
  • Supervising seafarers in cleaning passenger cabins and the ship in general.
  • Medical task in the emergency response team.
  • Responsible for repairing crew clothing and maintaining other material-related equipment onboard using a sewing machine.
  • Performs all other activities that may occur, also in other departments (such as hospitality or on deck)
  • Reports to the hospitality manager.

Your Profile

  • Experience in a housekeeping position (not necessarily on a ship)
  • Teamplayer with a flexible attitude able to adjust to our variety in programs (corporate, adventurous and luxury) and in all weather conditions
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Able to work independently but also as part of a team
  • Able to work long days and flexible hours
  • Proficient in the English language written and spoken
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) is required.
  • Experience with a sewing machine is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Holding (or willing to gain) certificates STCW Basic Safety, Security Awareness and Crowd Management, Seaman’s book and Medical Certificate for seafarers.
