The Stad Amsterdam left Cape Town on January 19 and started the continuation of her world trip. With the sails hoisted, the Clipper is currently crossing the Atlantic Ocean under favorable conditions. A calm breeze of 3-4 BFT blows the Clipper towards the west at an average speed of 6 – 7 knots on a calm ocean. In a few days the course will be shifted north, to Sint Helena and Sint Maarten.
The crew and passengers take advantage of the moment to do jobs on board: The wheelhouse and rudder have been sanded and varnished so that the ship will anchor off Sint Helena in full regalia on March 5.
