Throwing the anchor

New Year's Eve went by just as quick as an anchor disappears in the water. The splashing of sparkling wine in a glass when drinking to health reminds me of the splash of water when the anchor is cutting through the surface to disappear into the depths. Ignorant of what it may encounter on its way, sinking by gravity. It will only come to rest when it reaches the bottom of the sea where it will remain. Splash! And the new year is a fact.
What will this new year bring us? Gravity will make certain that we will not drift away. But to what kind of powers will we be subject to in the following days and months? What are the anchors that will keep us from drifting away? Are we in need of anchors or are they just ballast?

Number 7
Just because we wish everyone all the best for the New Year it doesn’t mean that all of our memories of the past year will be forgotten simply because a 7 is the last digit in our date now. The days will keep on passing by and so will our life as well. Yet this is a perfect time to stop and pauze for a short while. Where did you end up and what kind of things are you dragging along with you?

new horizons

Experiences, memories and the emotions that came with them is what we will remember of the past year. For some part this will give us support & certainty and it will prevent us from stranding in life. It will be good to moor and sort things. When all of our redundant memories are washed away, we can raise our anchor. Beautiful memories will help us setting sails and will keep our lives on track. On the way to new horizons, towards new experiences and new adventures.

With these words I like to wish everyone a wonderful 2017!
