Hi from Galveston, Texas!

In 2007, the Clipper Stad Amsterdam was already in Galveston. Galveston is located on an island south of Houston, Texas. On the way here we passed a couple of drilling rigs.

The maneuvering is not particularly difficult but because of our status as passenger vessel we often use a pilot to dock in foreign ports. This time we had a nice pilot, he could have been a good entertainer. He found the ship beautiful and took pictures of everything on board.

A warm welcome in Galveston

We had a few lovely days in Galveston with employees and clients of Randstad USA! So far we met many nice people in Texas and they gave us a warm welcome here. On the other side of the water we can see some drilling rigs and together with the sound of the seagulls it made us feel like home. IJmuiden is not much different, the only difference is that I've never seen a Pelikan there.

Ready for New Orleans

The preparations for departure already started. We spent the entire week in Galveston for in port events. Later on today we leave Galveston and we will set sail toward New Orleans. I enjoyed the people here, they are very kind, warm-hearted and helpful. And we had a a nice car show just in front of our ship today. But now it really is time to move again, we will wait for the pilot to come on board again and then we will quickly lift the lines and hoist sails!
