Clipper Caribbean Style

I got back on board in Martinique a week ago and already completely in "the Clipper mood" again. The weather south of Martinique is very pleasant at the moment. An average of 26 degrees Celsius and a wind force of about 4 or 5. Ideal conditions for sailing in between these volcanic islands and for exploring these islands.

Yesterday we left from the Tobago Cays which was as far south as we went on this trip. The day before we had a lovely BBQ on the beach with fresh lobster. A beautiful day of sailing to St. Vincent was next on our program and we anchored at Young Island: a 65-meter high rock just off the coast. We then went to explore the historical English fortress, Fort Duvernette. A narrow staircase led to the top where we enjoyed the sunset. Fortunately, the crew brought two cool boxes upstairs for a refreshing drink. When we returned to the ship and after listening to the captain’s presentation, there was a steel band on deck for musical entertainment at dinnertime. Next, we arranged all the tables on the side to create a dancefloor: In Caribbean Style!
