Forte-de-France
St Lucia

Saint Lucia

Depending on the wind and 'swell' conditions, sailing will be according to the following program:

The captain and his crew welcome you onboard on the island of Martinique where a delicious welcoming dinner is served soon after your arrival. Your very first night on board will be spent near Martinique's capital city Fort-de-France. The next morning we set sail for the very first time. You'll experience why the Caribbean is such a popular sailors' destination and how relaxing life on the Clipper Stad Amsterdam can be.

While the crew keeps the ship on course, delicious snacks and drinks are served on deck by our hospitality team. After several hours we will arrive at Saint Lucia in the afternoon. Depending on the wind and progress we make, the first stop will be in Anse de Cochon or Soufriere, slightly more south. Here you can enjoy a refreshing swim while our chef prepares a delicious 3-course dinner.

A day at St. Lucia

The mountainous island St. Lucia has a very pleasant climate, the nature on the island is beautiful and lush and the white sand beaches are stunning. The area around the village of Soufriere in the southwest and the volcanic plugs 'The Pitons' are outstanding in beauty.

On Thursday you can either have a relaxing day on the beach or visit some of the beautiful spots on the island by taking part in an island tour. Enjoy the protected National Park at Pigeon Island with great archaeological and historical value, visit a rum distillery or go to the largest banana plantation on the island. From the beautiful fishing village of Soufrière, you have a beautiful view on the two famous Pitons 'peaks'.

We will set sails again after dinner to reach our next destination, Bequia, around lunch time the following day. We will be there for the afternoon, evening, and night.

St Lucia Soufriere

Off to Bequia

This beautiful island in the Caribbean is known for the typical bright coloured fishing boats and houses. Bequia is the largest island in the Grenadines covering an area of 18 square kilometres. Port Elizabeth is the capital and English is the official language.

Bequia has beautiful sandy beaches and famous diving spots and there is a turtle farm where turtles eggs are hatched. The little turtles are taken care of until they are big enough to go out to sea. The island is also known for its delicious lobsters offered by local fishermen. In the evening you can enjoy the sunset at the Frangipani bar before having dinner on board.

Explore Mayreau & Tobago Cays

The next morning, after a swim and a delicious breakfast, we sail towards The Tobago Cays. After several hours of sailing our first stop is a beautiful little bay at Mayreau. This island, which only covers  4 square kilometers and has about 300 inhabitants, has a special local atmosphere. There is time to enjoy the beach or to go for a relaxing stroll from Salt Whistle Bay to Salina Bay.

From Mayreau to Tobago Cays it is only a short trip the next morning. The archipelago has no inhabitants and is an excellent spot for diving or snorkelling. It is quite a challenge to navigate when anchoring inside the horseshoe reef. But the crystal clear water, the beautiful corals and various exotic fish such as red snappers, blowfish and parrotfish we find here are all worth it. We might even be lucky to see turtles here!

On a paradise beach, a delicious barbecue is provided by our chefs. In the evening there will be a small party on board.

Volcanic Island St. Vincent

The next morning after breakfast - you may have already enjoyed an early swim - we leave for the volcanic island of St. Vincent and enjoy some active sailing on the way. We arrive in the late afternoon just before dinner is served near the fortress Duvenet. You can, for example, visit a nice beach bar in the evening and explore the island the next day. Snorkeling in St. Vincent is definitely recommended.

Some of the beaches on this green island consist of black volcanic sand. For a dozen or so meters the coastline is flat to become much steeper in the direction of the volcano Soufrière. A visit to St. Vincent's capital city Kingstown is definitely worth considering. You can also visit the offshore Young Island, home to an exclusive and luxurious resort.

St Vincent

Anse d’Arlet

Late in the evening, we will say goodbye to St. Vincent and head to Martinique. It will take us all night and morning to reach the beautiful bay of Grand Anse where we will anchor.

In the afternoon you may want to go swimming or perhaps you like to visit the shops and restaurants on the nearby boulevard. With a captain's dinner on the deck, we will celebrate our very last evening together.

Early the next morning we will have a last short sail to reach the port of Fort-de-France where we say goodbye at 10.00 am. We hope this cruise will be a memorable one for you!
