The Route

Leaving Sorong, the Clipper sets sail through the intricate waters of the Indonesian archipelago. The crew, skilled and knowledgeable, guides the way as we navigate through the islands, providing you with an opportunity to witness the rich cultural diversity and stunning landscapes along the way.

Sailing through the Torres Strait:
Our route takes us through the Torres Strait, a narrow passage between Papua New Guinea and Australia. This strategic waterway is known for its unique blend of cultures, and as we sail through, you’ll have the chance to experience the maritime heritage of the region.

Navigating Outside the Great Barrier Reef:
Opting to sail outside the Great Barrier Reef provides a different perspective of this natural wonder. The crew ensures a safe passage as the Clipper glides through open waters. This route allows you to appreciate the vastness of the ocean.

Approaching Sydney, Australia:
As the Clipper approaches the shores of Australia, the skyline of Sydney comes into view. The iconic Sydney Opera House and Harbor Bridge welcome you to this cosmopolitan city. The culmination of this remarkable sailing passage is met with the excitement of exploring the vibrant culture and landmarks of Sydney.

Sailing & Adventure

During the sailing voyage through the intricate waters of the Indonesian archipelago that will bring you to Sydney, you’ll learn as much as possible about sailing on a square-rigged ship.

You are invited to work alongside the crew during their watches. Whether assisting with navigation, learning the art of sail handling, or participating in other aspects of seamanship, this hands-on experience adds a unique dimension to your sailing adventure.

What could be more beautiful than standing lookout with nothing but the sea around you? It’s a unique experience to feel small and insignificant in the overwhelming nature. Gaze into the waves, enjoy the vast ocean, and perhaps spot a few whales which are frequently seen in this area.

Besides sailing, there are plenty of other activities! We also recommend you to assist the crew, for instance, in maintenance, to truly experience life on board a sailing ship.
