Debarkation: February 3th, 2011, 10:00 Martinique

Sail along with Clipper Stad Amsterdam on a delicious journey discovering the Caribbean islands. The Caribbean kitchen, a melting pot of ethnical influences, reminds us of the roots of the current inhabitants.

Our chef finds his inspiration in the Spanish, British, African and Chinese kitchen, but also in local specialties with a bit of Creole flair. The easy-going-lifestyle of the Caribbean can be recognized in the famous pepper pot soup, curry goat and the popular beef patties. Together with our chef you will visit local markets, colonial banana or sugarcane plantations and sail to the best fishing spots.

Sailing on the warm trade winds from the one beautiful island to the next we have, wind and weather allowing, the opportunity to discover the most luscious spots on earth:

Snorkeling in the Tobago Cays, we meet Snappers, Rays, Blowfish and Parrotfish. Enjoying the sunset on a desolated beach we feast on a fresh fish barbecue…

From Admiralty Bay we will explore the charming island of Bequia. We will encounter the characteristic lively colored fishing boats that participate in the famous Bequia Easter Regatta.
At  these local fishers we will gather our delicious diner!

Saint Vincent is the capital island of the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Archipelago. Wallilabou Bay on St. Vincent has been the film set for the “The Pirates of the Caribbean” movies.
Stern to, our mooring lines around a palm tree, the Clipper fits perfectly! The ultimate spot to start a wonderful hike to the local fruit and vegetable market. With the fresh limes and coconuts we will continue with a cocktail workshop creating our own refreshing mojito’s, marguerita’s and pina colada’s.
Lovers of scuba diving can participate in an excursion from Union Island. Who prefers to stay dry, can visit the capital city, Clifton. This city gives you the ultimate Caribbean culture experience Bob Marley style.

We can also drop anchor close to the luxury Palm Island. This island is known for its three simple ingredients. Palm trees, pearly white beaches and a bar with ravishing local rum.

On Saint Lucia we will drop anchor in Rodney Bay. This Hurricane Hole is the starting point of a nature exploring trip. The impressive waterfalls are overwhelming.

During this trip you will be given plenty of time to enjoy the Clipper Stad Amsterdam and get to know her enthusiastic crew. We will sail a few fairly longer tracks through the warm Caribbean nights. During the day you will be impressed by the magnificent rigging of the Clipper, but also by the joy of nature’s beautiful birds such as pelicans and albatrosses. Maybe we will even see dolphins or a whale. Our crew will ask you to assist in setting sails once in a while. Also our chef will appreciate your assistance in the galley preparing tasty Caribbean ginger cake, spicy mango chutney or the typical conch fritters!

Explore the beautiful Caribbean islands enjoying the best gourmet food!
