Adelaide

Yesterday early morning we heaved up anchor and sailed the last stretch to Adelaide.Fortunately the wind decreased somewhat and so we could sail all the way up to the pier. Also in Adelaide many people expected us to arrive. Shortly before entering port many boats and even a helicopter came to escort us to our berth.

Once she was moored properly the vessel was to be prepared for the receptions. We are proud to present a clean and beautiful ship when we will be receiving so many people. The same counts for the crew. Therefore a comb and a razor are handled a bit longer in port than at sea.
Today we received the first of Randstad Australia’s guests for a breakfast at 7 o’clock in the morning. We are expecting to have received about 350 invited guests by 10 o’clock tonight. And that is why I have never seen so many crew working together in hospitality service before. Capably led by our hotel manager Maarten and chef de cuisine Bart, even in the galley and in hospitality our deck crew work as a team.
After the last guest has left the deck, the glasses are stowed in safety while the ship is made ready for sea. Tomorrow morning at 10 we will proceed heading for Perth.
I would like take a moment for a big compliment to the entire crew. I enjoy having you on board. One can sail any sea with such crew onboard.
