At sea
After the completion of some formalities for an Australian television station, we could heave the mooring lines on deck at 10 o’clock in the morning. The same broadcasting company had hired a chopper to televise our departure and thus requested me to, similar to our arrival, show some of our canvas. A request that we gladly responded to. And so we were making sail while passing the bridge. We had to start the engine to pass the dulls caused by the buildings behind the Sydney Opera, but we were able to stop engine for the day and put the propeller in its vane position when we had Fort Denison abaft from abeam.
The pilot requested to be debarked within the Sydney harbor bay heads with good reason.
Yesterday the sea was ruled by an 8 Bfd wind and, while the current was opposed to that same wind, the sea was as they say rather choppy.
We have embarked a new group of people for this leg but I suppose that in normal life those new faces have a less greenish complexion than today….
