Beagle

After having carried the pennant for several days during the event “Delfsail” everything is focused at the ‘Beagle project’. The name of it is called after the ship that sailed Charles Darwin 178 years ago around the world. The observations Darwin did during this voyage may be called the roots of his evolution theory.
We are on tour with the Dutch broadcasting company VPRO to redo the voyage of Darwin. In order to make many people witness of this adventure entire truck loads with media equipment were emptied in the ships hold. Besides this material we were also astonished by the enormous amount of material needed for scientific research to determine the evolution of the earth since Darwin.
Meanwhile Delfsail and Oostende are astern and are bound for Plymouth, the port the voyage of the real Beagle started. We also see this port as the start of our circumnavigation.
