Alongside at Venice
Like pointed out in the last “pim” undersigned and his chief engineer found some hours last night to have a short view into the town of Venice. In spite of the limited time it gives one an impression of the beauty of it, at least enough for wanting to be back when having some more time off.
The 2009 programs in Italy come to an end. Tomorrow we will perform our last act by offering a day sail to more than hundred inhabitants of this country. Although having them on board is a great pleasure to the crew, the staff is looking forward to the end of it and find a more quite Clipper again.
From the departure of Ancona till tomorrow we had the pleasure of having the initiator and owner of the Stad Amsterdam and his wife on board. To a captain it is very important to deal with a ships owner of the right kind, which is easy to recognize. You may like a car or house but a ship is something you even can love. And the visibility of this feeling cannot be hidden.
