Last day at sea

The last full day at sea. Tomorrow our voyage will end up in Faro, a town at the south coast of Portugal. This sailing trip could not have been ended in a better way as today. Last night the Clipper cut through a flat sea towards the Portuguese coast showing 8 knots on her log, braced sharp on a starboard tack. At sunrise a backing wind forced us to choose for the other tack and answered our manoeuvre by veering again. At the end of the morning we reacted on that by tacking our ship and point our bow towards Sao Vicente, the cape we have to round the coming night. The wind was dying out gently and left us floating around on a mirror like sea. We cannot avoid starting our engine again but before this machine pushes us towards our destination we experienced a unique scene of the ocean. At one certain moment during twilight, two sharks, a few dolphins and a whale approached our vessel very close. As if the Atlantic Ocean wanted to say goodbye to us. We will be in the Mediterranean Sea in a few days.
