The Clipper has departed

The southwesterly wind does not allow us to start this voyage under canvas but the moderate strength of it and the presence of a bright sun compromises a lot. After being laid up for over three weeks even sailing under engine is experienced as a treat. The twenty-five faces of our guests on this voyage to Portugal looked as happy as our crew so it seamed to bother not too much the canvas stayed furled on the yards. As long as it takes of course, because everybody hopes to see the clipper fully rigged somewhere this trip. If we can take the forecasts serious we could expect a good sail from Monday. We’ll see.
