Youth trip Warnemuende - Den Helder

Yesterday evening during the blue watch we were still at anchor at the Danish island of Aero. Because there was not that much to do we all did some climbing on the jib boom, after that we all went down and played cards, enjoyed our chats and on the end of the watch we got a special explanation in and around the bridge from quarter master Rogier.
Friday August 15th started off with a late wake up call, we only had 15 minutes to get  ready and have breakfast until our watch would start at eight AM. During our watch we set the upper top gallant and after that the main sail by the trainees. Their favorite pastime during the watch is climbing. When all had come down safe we got an explanation about the tack maneuver that was about to start. A lot of work is always involved here, especially pulling lots of rope. After our new course was set the sun came through completely and everybody started sun tanning on the deck. The wind dropped completely and in order to arrive on time in Flensburg we had to continue under engine power. It has bee a lot of fun so far with crew members Rogier, Leon, Denis, Rene and Gijs
