Youth trip Warnemuende - Den Helder

My first day on board.

We arrive at the Clipper at 6.30 PM. The boat looks smaller than I had imagined but looks deceive, it is bigger than it looks. The space inside is amazing and the rooms are cozy although 4 people sleep in them. The crew is friendly and multi-cultural. When all are on board there is an explanation about safety and the ship’s rules of behaviour. After that we are led to our rooms and we are being divide in three groups (red, white and blue) and we are being familiarized with the ship. In the evening we are allowed to go ashore in the German port and because we just came all the way from Amsterdam we do not need to start working right away. During the night I find out that I am in the Red watch, the dog watch and this watch is on during the most dreadful hours (12-4 PM and AM). Not bad for me, I’m used to work night shifts. We will see what comes our way.
