Valencia to Lisbon

The peaceful weather we have today will play no part anymore in the weather that lies ahead of us. South westerly winds force seven will surely stall our progress a little as this is the direction that we have to go. For our only guest, Jan de Groot from Holland this means that he will have to wait before he sees the first sails unpacked. Trying to sail close hauled in the expected sea state hardly ever gives the result that is wanted. The focus for the coming days will then be shifted to the ancient art of astronomical navigation; the sun, moon and stars will stay visible the coming days and nights, a good opportunity to teach the traditional way of determining ones position to our guest and also to our eager Russian deckhand/pupil Denis Klyuchko
