Queen's day

If the weather charts are right we may believe that queen’s day in Holland was celebrated under different circumstances than on board the Clipper. Under a sunny sky the main deck was changed into a marketplace, meanwhile almost a yearly tradition. Besides this free market an auction appeared to be a new event on this Dutch national holyday. Broken parts of ship’s items were by handy crewmembers transformed into beautiful souvenirs of this Atlantic crossing. The profit had not to be the benefit of the creator but was contributed to a party to be held at the end of this voyage.
Although there was already a lot to laugh at the market and auction, the puppet show after that could be called hilarious. These self made puppets represented some crewmembers of the ship and the show legitimated to poke fun at the captain and let undersigned laugh the loudest of all.
