How time flies

After have been under sail for a few days we pass far north from the Azores by diesel power. The heavy rolling ship reminds us steadily on a depression north of us and increasing temperatures are a result of the ‘high’ on lower latitudes.
With two thousand mile astern from us we are over halfway our voyage. Our guests are divided in sea watches and helping our sailors with the work on deck. Everyone has his jobs to do, from ordinary sailor to cook, so there is no reason to get bored on the society that we call “Stad Amsterdam”. Also on board there are just 24 hours in a day and like ashore they are gone before realizing it. Sometimes you even can have the feeling there are only 23 hours in a day……..that’s because we are heading east.
