Clipper to attend several European events

This summer the Clipper Stad Amsterdam will again attend nautical events all over Europe. You will have the chance to admire the Clipper in a number of Dutch, French and German cities.

Formula 1 Grand Prix in Monaco

Just as in 2007, the Stad Amsterdam will visit Monaco in May on the occasion of the annual Formula 1 Grand Prix. Thousands of visitors will travel to Monaco to witness this racing spectacle. Team Williams and Randstad will be organising some very exclusive receptions for their clients aboard the Clipper.

L’Armada Rouen

In July, the ship will partake in the L’Armada Rouen 2008. This spectacular nautical event in the French town of Rouen on the banks of the river Seine attracts over 10 million visitors. For some ten days, Rouen will the home port for a wide variety of tall ships and historical sailing vessels. During this event, many companies will use the Clipper as a unique platform for corporate receptions. The Stad Amsterdam will, however, be open to the public too. It promises to be a dazzling event, at which thousands of enthusiasts will have a chance to visit the Clipper.  

Hanse Sail Rostock

In Germany too, there are some exceptional events. At the beginning of August, the Hanse Sail Rostock will take place in the Hanseatic port of Rostock for the 18th time. Rostock and the port of Warnemüde, both situated on the River Warnow, are the nautical focal point during this event. Schooners, Barkentines, Briggs and various other historical museum vessels will adorn the ports of Rostock and Warnemünde. During this event the Clipper Stad Amsterdam is available for corporate hospitality. Individuals too, however, will have the opportunity to sail on the Clipper on a daytrip.  

Lütte Sail Bremerhaven

The international summer festival for Tall Ships and traditional sailing vessels will take place in Bremerhaven at the end of August. Bremerhaven is situated in North Germany on the River Weser that flows into the North Sea. ‘Lütte’ means ‘small’ in North German. We know by now that the event will be anything but small. On the contrary, a large number of Tall Ships and traditional sailing vessels will take part in this event. With justifiable pride we can inform you that the Clipper Stad Amsterdam will be one of the participants.  

Wereldhavendagen Rotterdam

In September, the Clipper Stad Amsterdam will attend the Wereldhavendagen in Rotterdam. On Friday 5 September, the Tall Ships will arrive at Hook of Holland where they will join a medley of ships for the Parade of Sail. On arrival in the centre of Rotterdam, the event will be officially opened and the ships will moor at the Lloyd's quay. On Saturday night, the event will be concluded with crackling fireworks. On Sunday morning, the event will be concluded with the Parade of Sail.
