Experienced square-rigged sailors

Greenhands DECK CREW and SERVICE CREW

On Clipper Stad Amsterdam there are openings for greenhands. You are done with your school, studies or job and you are thinking about a job on big sailing vessels or on the service part of it. You do not have much experience on square riggers, or some experience in service, but you want to start learning on a fullrigged vessel that sails worldwide.

In the months September 2010 and October 2010 we give the opportunity for volunteers DECK CREW and volunteers SERVICE CREW to sail with us in the Netherlands. With this opportunity you can have the change to be hired as greenhand and sail with us to the Caribbean. A minimum of two weeks as volunteer on board is needed for this.

A greenhand signs on for 4 months. After that period we judge, together with you, if you can be promoted to Ordinary Sailor or Junior Service Employee. If we both want to proceed and there is a vacancy, the intention is that you join us as ordinary sailor or junior service employee for a year on a:  "2 on, 1 off" system.
